Humberto "Bert" Scoccia, MD Medical Director, IVF Program Professor and Director, Division of Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility Bert Scoccia, MD, is Medical Director of the IVF Program at the University of Illinois Center for IVF & Fertility, located in Chicago, and the Director of the Division of Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility. He is a Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology in the University of Illinois College of Medicine at Chicago. Dr. Scoccia received his Medical Degree from Indiana University School of Medicine and completed Residency training in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Methodist Hospital. He completed his Fellowship in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at Michael Reese Hospital in 1987. Dr. Scoccia is Board Certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology with a subspecialty certification in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility. Dr. Scoccia is a nationally recognized specialist and member of the American Society for Reproductive Medicine that establishes clinical practice guidelines in North America. Dr. Scoccia's research, which has been sponsored by the National Cancer Institute, focuses on the study of possible long term side effects of fertility drugs in infertile women. He also is investigating ways to optimize ovulation induction protocols in poor responder patients undergoing IVF. Dr. Scoccia has been honored with the Physician Award of Excellence by Resolve of Illinois. He has once again been awarded Best Doctor 2011-2012 by Best Doctors ® and Chicago Magazine's 2012 Top Doctors for Women: Reproductive Endocrinology. Dr. Scoccia is fluent in Spanish and Italian. |

| Nicola Winston, PhD, HCLD IVF Lab Director Embryologist/Research Scientist Assistant Professor, Division of Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility Nicola Winston, PhD, HCLD, is the Laboratory Director for the IVF Program at the University of Illinois Center for IVF & Fertility. She is an Assistant Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology in the University of Illinois College of Medicine at Chicago. Dr. Winston received her Bachelors Degree with honors from the University of London (UK) and was trained as a human embryologist at the Hammersmith Hospital in London. Dr. Winston was awarded her PhD from Cambridge University (UK) for studies specializing in furthering our understanding of early human embryo development. Dr. Winston is a Board Certified High-Complexity Clinical Laboratory Director in the disciplines of Embryology and Andrology. Dr. Winston has over a decade of research dedicated to increasing our knowledge and understanding of the process of egg maturation, as well as the identification and function of factors involved in the regulation of early embryo development. |

| Michelle Fierro, BS, TS Embryologist Michelle Fierro received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Biological Sciences from the University of Illinois at Chicago in 1999. She was trained in tissue culture techniques, egg assessment and intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI) within our Program. She is precise, diligent and offers our Program excellent laboratory support. |

| Debbie Dinsmore, RN Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility Nurse Ms. Dinsmore received her nursing degree from the South Chicago School of Nursing in 1970. She worked as a nurse and clinical manager in the labor and delivery department at a suburban hospital for over 26 years. More recently, Debbie worked at a large infertility center as the clinical manager and nurse. In this role, she was responsible for the overall activity of the office. She also assisted the physicians in the coordinator of patient treatment. Her duties at the University of Illinois Center for IVF & Fertility include: scheduling treatments, phlebotomy, injection teaching, providing counseling for ovulation induction and IVF, and intrauterine inseminations. |

| Debbie Stevenson, RN, BSN IVF Nurse Coordinator Ms. Stevenson received her Bachelor of Science Degree from De Paul University in 1979. She has been working in the field of reproductive endocrinology/IVF since 1986. Debbie is one of the first IVF Team members that patients encounter when starting treatment. As the nurse coordinator of the IVF Program, she counsels patients regarding IVF issues, coordinates their cycles with the physician and embryology staff, schedules their treatment appointments, provides information concerning their treatment regimens, and ensures that they have a thorough understanding of medication, action and administration. Debbie attends national IVF nurse/program coordinator meetings and workshops, participates in postgraduate courses, and reviews the journals of the American Society of Reproductive Medicine to keep current in the field. |
